Scanning ServiceWhat's happening in your councilHelp and guidanceScanning Batch Headers

The scanning service relies on a "batch header" (commonly known as a scanning sheet) to automatically identify the start of each scanning document.

Council's requirements for scanning are different, which is why there are different batch headers. EsRC batch headers are available on ESRC SharePoint. NERC batch headers are available on the NERC network. You can download some other batch headers by clicking on one of the links below. If you cannot see a specific batch header for your council or would like your documents e-mailed please use the "General Email Batch scanning Header".

When completing the batch header please:

  • DO NOT change the layout of the form in any way (we rely on certain parts of the form always being in the same place).
  • DO write clearly (we rely on a machine to recognise what you have written).
  • DO make sure your name is on the header so that we can return your documents to you.
  • DO when deciding a document title, only use those characters acceptable in computer file names (i.e. don't use full stops, commas, forward or back-slashes, use a dash instead).
  • DO please only use cream or yellow paper to print your batch header.

If you would like JRS to print some batch headers for you, please complete a JRS Requisition
