What is "Document reflow"? Opening a document on another PC can change where lines of text and pages end, which can result in your document containing more pages than originally. If you have created your own page breaks (rather than letting Word do it) you may also find that you have additional pages containing just one paragraph, line, or word of text. Why does it happen? When you create or open a document in Microsoft word, it looks for your default printer and formats your document using your printer's default margins. If you select another printer, or open the document on another PC, Word will repaginate itself according to the NEW printable default margins. What can you do about it? One solution to this problem is to make sure that the printer that you wish to send your document to, is selected before you open MS Word. However, by far the best solution is to create a Portable Document Format file (PDF) from your word document. This can be done at nominal cost by purchasing Adobe Acrobat Distiller. Remember, if you open the document on another PC, it may reflow before you create the PDF! | |||||
